Sturgis Welcome Riders As Always
The Sturgis Motorcyle Rally is held yearly in Sturgis, South Dakota. The founder Clarence Hoel “Pappy” is still honored in many ways at Sturgis. It was founded on August 14 1938 by the Jackpine Gypsies Motorcycle Club who still own and opearte the tracks, hillclimb, and field areas that the rally is concentrated around. The first rally was focused on racing and stunts.
The 19 participants in the first rally had board wall crashes, ramp jumps, and head on collisions with cars.
In modern times, there has been a huge demand on classic rallies. Sturgis attendance is always going up steadily as we mentioned it before… it went from 514,951 in 2004 to 525,250 during 2005.
This is one of the biggest show that featured on TV constantly on ESPN, VH1
The only time sturgis show didnt happen was during World War II.
