Having Parts Installed at Rallies Part II

The first part of my article about having parts installed at rallies was letting you know that not everyone is qualified to install whatever product they sell just because they are at a booth. In the first article, the end result was $600 damage to a friend’s bike.

So what can you do about damage to your bike? Nothing. If you bought the product from a Mom and Pop booth, they most likely are almost impossible to find. Even if you had the product installed by a larger name company, it is usually after the rally when you find the damage. Either way, you would find that it would cost you a few thousand to sue the people or the company, and you might get nothing out of the lawsuit because it is difficult to prove who did the damage and when it occurred.

If you do find the damage at the rally it is a disaster trying to get your money back let alone for damages. The best thing to do when you buy a product is hold off from being excited and having someone damage your motorcycle and instead take the bike to a local dealership.
