If you are from a state where it snows, you need to be aware that the roads are different in warm weather states and much more dangerous.
In cold weather states it is important for traction to have more rock content in the roads, but because there is more surface area these roads need to be repaved on a more frequent basis.
To avoid having to pay the large sums of money to get roads repaved and because traction is not so much of an issue, warm weather states have smoother roads. This means that even when the roads are dry that you will find that your feet will slide easily on the pavement.
This is obviously noteworthy because you need to be careful braking and cornering, but also so when you put your feet down that make sure you have good footing.
