As we get towards the end of October the amount of time in the saddle has dropped for a lot of riders, unfortunately. Also, the motorcycle rally season has come to a close for almost all parts of the country and this is definitely the case for larger rallies with the exception of the gigantic Lone Star motorcycle rally in Galveston, TX!
Just south of Houston and over the Causeway is Galveston Island where the temperatures are in the 70s and 80s even in early November. This means the hundreds of thousands of riders that attend (making the rally one of the top ten largest rallies) will enjoy riding to the island and along the coast during the 2015 rally held from November 5-8.
The main areas for Lone Star are Strand Street on the Bay side and long Seawall Blvd. on the Gulf-side. During the rally, there is a constant stream of motorcycles slowly riding down Strand Street. At both locations, there are big rig setups and many high-quality vendors.
Lone Star offers a wide range of cool attractions, including multi-day bike shows (vintage, retro, custom, and big wheel bikes) and car shows (hot rods, rat rods, classics, and muscle cars). There is a lot of live music as well, including from nationally recognized bands like Jackyl, David Allen Coe, Bad Company’s Brian Howe, and country star Jared Blake. Additionally, there will be the Full Throttle Saloon Throttle Fest, rides, poker run, custom bike builders, scavenger hunt, bike games, Miss Lone Star Rally contest, Harley-Davidson Fatboy giveaway, and demo ride fleets.
