Although Bike Week in the spring is the larger of the two motorcycle rallies held in the Daytona area, Biketoberfest is a large motorcycle rally that attracts around 125,000 riders and a great time. The 23rd anniversary of this motorcycle rally will be held October 15-18 during the time of milder weather in the Daytona Beach area.
The weather this time of year makes it perfect to enjoy some of the numerous rides in the area. Some highlights are: the “Loop”, scenery in Tomoka State Park, DeLeon Springs State Park, and Ponce de Leon Lighthouse Inlet, cruising up and down Main Street and Beach Street, and riders can even go for a spin on the hard-packed Daytona Beach itself.
In addition to the rides, there are a lot of Biketoberfest attractions, including a number of centers of action. Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona, the world’s largest Harley-Davidson, will have the Full Throttle Magazine Bike Show, Baddest Bagger Bike Show, live music including a free concert by Jackyl, Miss Destination Daytona contest, Backyard Brawls and Wrestling Tournament, demo rides, and many vendors.
Another center for the Biketoberfest rally is Daytona International Speedway that has racing, demo rides, vendors, and entertainment. Indian Motorcycle Daytona Beach hosts the famous Rat’s Hole Custom Bike Show, the Boardwalk’s Classic Bike Show is always a big draw, and the Volusia County Fairgrounds hosts the Fastlane Promotions Motorcycle Swap Meet.
