Our WTF of the day may just be our WTF of the whole week. This custom trike, sent to us by a reader of the best motorcycle blog on the internet, should never have been allowed to see the light of day, let alone be captured for all eternity on digital film.
Sporting what appears to be the back end of a Pontiac Fiero (one of the worst cars ever built) and the front end of a as-of-yet unidentified cruiser (we’re guessing it’s equally awful, though), this abomination didn’t ride into this world…it crawled out of the pits of a dark place we shall not name here (though, it may be over at one of our staffer’s mother in law’s houses).
Whenever we see something like this, and we’ve seen awful trike customs before we have to wonder what state of mind the “creator” was in when he/she dreamed up a tub of nuts, bolts and fail like this. It makes anyone who appreciates the finer side of two and three-wheeled motoring weep a little on the inside, and maybe the outside, knowing that someone actually rides this around gathering looks like pot marks and acne scars on some teenage face.
Honestly, we have nothing against someone trying to incorporate parts of a car into a trike. They’re just one wheel different after all. However, it’s like the guy/gal that made this completely forgot that we actually sell motorcycle luggage, and there is no need for a full car trunk. Especially one that used to house an engine notorious for catching on fire.
We hope you enjoy staring at these images, mouth and eyes agape, as much as we did. It really put us in the Spring-time mood. Meaning, it made us want to hop on our bikes and ride as fast as we could away from the very thought of this thing existing and get back to a better world where all custom bikes are beautiful, and all of their parts come from quality vendors instead of 80’s mid-engine death traps.
Happy Tuesday everybody!
