In a press release from June 4, Ducati North America reported a retail sales increase of 49 percent in May and an all-time monthly record sales. According to Ducati, the sales jump and all-time record were due to the introduction of 1199 Panigale and Streetfighter 848, including the continued success of Diavel and Miltistrada models. But I think that the reason for the sales jump was the marriage with Audi—it was a good move for the motorcycle manufacturer.
Ducati sold 1,782 new motorcycles in May, which is 388 bikes more than the previous record in June 2008.
