Daytona Bike Week 2012 is officially over. It was a very sunny event—one of the warmest Bike Weeks. The event was pushed back one week later than the usual first full week of March and was held March 9-18. The best places to visit were still Main Street, Beach Street, and the International Speedway Boulevard.
However, according to an article published in the Daytona Beach News-Journal, this Bike Week was bad for vendors. The author of the article interviewed several vendors, including the owner of properties on Main Street who said that “there was a time when vendors would fight for space — and those who had it would renew their contracts before leaving to ensure they would retain the space…We don’t have that anymore. ” A vendor selling T-shirts said, “There were a lot of people riding around, but they weren’t spending any money.”
