Customized BMW R45 Called “The Gonzo”
David Borras, a motorcycle builder from Spain and owner of El Solitario MC, has created an unusual bike called “The Gonzo” out of a BMW R45. David refers to his creation as “a slashed together pile of junk” that he loves, and named it after Jim Henson’s puppet character, “Gonzo the Great” for obvious reasons.
He bought the R45 in the 1990s, customized its appearance several time, and used it as his personal bike for a while until he left it in the back of his garage for several years. He started the El Solitario Motorcycle Company in 2011and decided it was a good time to recover the R45. For his Gonzo, he used some of the junk he had around in the shop, added a lithium battery, a PIAA headlights, and a 21′ front Akront rim.
