A motorcyclist was killed in an accident during a protest ride against helmet laws, after he flipped over the handlebars and hit his head on the ground. Philip A. Contos, 55, from Parish, NY, wasn’t wearing a motorcycle helmet. During the accident that happened Saturday afternoon, Contos was riding with about 500 other helmetless motorcyclists in The Independence Ride, an annual event organized by the local chapter of American Bikers Aimed Toward Education. State troopers say Contos would have likely survived if he had been wearing a helmet—he died of head injury.

P.S. I added the fact that the motorcyclist died from head injury later on.
